Fremont Wrestling Claimed the Title at the Hopkins Invitational 2019.
The Fremont Packers were crowned the champions out of 13 teams at Hopkins on Saturday. After several weeks of finishing runner-up, the Packers had a concerted team effort to tally a total of 222 points, including 41 pins on the day.
Fremont had two individual champs and two runners-up. Junior, Chase Knudsen had 4 pins to win it at 160 pounds and at 285 pounds, Senior, Chaz Wheater was undefeated with 5 pins.
At 152 pounds and 285 pounds, Trey Breuker and Austin Kukal were both second, respectively. Gage Breuker went 4-1 and placed third at 119. Other Packers that contributed to the team’s victory were: Eli Beasley, Matt Halasinski, Jager Kibart, Kyler Kolk, RJ Thome, Matt Long, Gage Montague, Caden Christofferson, Dennis Halasinski, and Payton Mansfield.
